In compliance with all UK water companies, London & Kent Safety Training conducts this course in accordance with Energy & Utility Skills. The National Water Hygiene scheme – also referred to as ‘Blue Card’ – focuses on the continuing protection of public health and the endorsement of decent water hygiene practices.
Anyone – employees or subcontractors – working on the clean water network, or entering the sites knows as ‘Restricted Operations’, must possess a National Water Hygiene EUSR registration.
Please be advised a questionnaire relating to the health of all individuals who work in the areas of restricted operations, and are taking part in the EUSR Water Hygiene course, must be completed in advance.
In this document, participants must acknowledge if they have – or have had in the past 12 months – any of the following illness or symptoms:
- Constant Diarrhoea
- Dysentery
- Hepatitis A
- Hepatitis E
- Incessant Vomiting
- Jaundice
- Paratyphoid
- Typhoid
- Unexplained Fever
Depending on the answers received, London & Kent Safety Training’s representative will refer the individual(s) to their doctor(s) or the occupational health department of their local hospital(s) to ascertain if a water-borne disease is present. The National Water Hygiene card will not be issued to the individual until both screening and the course assessment have been passed.
