In compliance with the gas industry, London & Kent Safety Training conducts this course in accordance with Energy & Utility Skills. Consisting of nine modules – six core and three gas industry specific – each module must be completed, and attendees must pass the SHEA Gas assessment in order to receive their registration.
Module 1 – Understanding our Workplace Responsibilities
Reinforces legal frameworks in the workplace, and outlines the responsibilities of both the employer and employee.
Module 2 – Understanding the Effects of our Work on the Environment
Centres on the workplace’s impact on the environment, and the ensuing consequences for all concerned.
Module 3 – Identifying and Controlling Risks
Instructs the individual on how to identify and control all potential risks and hazards, and to enforce future prevention.
Module 4 – Common Hazards in the Workplace
Ensures the individual’s ability to identify and avoid potential risks, in line with the Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS).
Module 5 – Occupational Health Hazards
Defines ‘occupational health’ and the relevant threats, guaranteeing the individual’s comprehension of the term and knowledge of how to avoid such events.
Module 6 – Responding to Emergencies
Improves the individual’s comprehension of all relevant emergency procedures and the potential outcomes of both positive and negative practices.
Module 7 – Highway Working and Evacuations (Gas Industry)
Instructs on the procedures relating to gas works within the public and private sectors and details emergency measures.
Module 8 – Pressing Regulating Installations (Gas Industry)
Outlines the movement of gas from source to meter, covering risks connected to pressure regulating installations.
Module 9 – Safety in Premises (Gas Industry)
Details how to work safely in public and private sectors, and communicate successfully with customers.
Registration with EUSR is based on the individual completing the relevant training programme and assessment. The EUSR SHEA Gas training course is interactive and lasts one working day. Attendees are encouraged to actively participate in order to share experiences and promote discussion.
EUSR SHEA Gas registration lasts for five years from date of assessment.
The EUSR SHEA Gas scheme allows registered individuals to conduct utility works on construction sites without holding a separate CSCS card.
